On the Town casting dancers who sing and act. All ensemble will be playing multiple roles, should be versatile actors and strong dancers and/or singers. We will be using a mixture of singers who move well, triple-threats, and dancers who sing. All must have strong comedic acting skills.

Casting: Gabey: 22–35. Baritone. Gabey is one of three sailors on shore leave, and the one most prone to being a romantic. Ozzie: 22-32. baritone. Ozzie is one of the other sailors on shore leave in the city. Chip: 18-30. Baritone. Chip is another one of the sailors on leave. He is the most naive and the one least interested in meeting a girl for a fling during his day in the city.

Claire: 22-32. Legit soprano. Although she is engaged to be married to Judge Pitkin W. Bridgework, Claire’s love interest is Ozzie. Strong dancer. Hildy: 20–34. Mezzo-soprano/Belter. Very strong comic actress. Ivy: 22–32. Mezzo-soprano. Her love interest is Gabey. Very strong dancer, as the role is primarily dance. Madame Dilly: 40–60. Mezzo-soprano/contralto. Judge Pitkin: 35–65. Bass. Judge Pitkin is engaged to Claire de Loone. He is a bit too understanding of Claire’s problems with men and very overblown. Lucy Schmeeler: Hildy’s roommate. She has a terrible cold and provides comic relief. Non-singing role.

EPA procedures are in effect for this audition. An Equity Monitor will be provided.
Prepare a one-minute traditional “jazz-style” Golden Age musical theater song (prefer Bernstein, Jules Styne, etc. and not so much Rodgers and Hammerstein/Lerner and Loewe). An accompanist will be provided.

Each production has different dance requirements. We are seeking dancers that excel in ballet, jazz, and/or tap; acro/tumbling is a plus. Broadway at Music Circus actively solicits women and minorities for inclusive casting opportunities.

Seeking Ensemble Dancers who excel in ballet, jazz, and/or tap; aero-tumbling a plus. Ensemble Female and Male Singers: All voice types. Most will be expected to move very well.

Season includes: Shrek The Musical with choreography by Robbie Roby, Rehearsals: Week of 5/27 Performances: 6/11–6/16/19. Oklahoma! Rehearsals: Week of 6/10/19. Performances: 6/25–6/30/19, The Drowsy Chaperone choreography by John MacInnis, Rehearsals Begin: Week of 6/24. Performances: 7/ 9–7/14/19, Guys and Dolls choreography by Michael Lichtefeld, Rehearsals: Week of 7/8, Performances: 7/23–7/28/19, The Wiz choreography by Gerry McIntyre, Rehearsals: Week of 7/22/19. Performances: 8/6–8/11/19, In the Heights, Rehearsals: Week of 8/5/19. Performances: 8/20–8/25/19.

All will dance first. Be prepared to sing 16 bars if asked; singing from the season is acceptable and encouraged. Please bring sheet music in your key as an accompanist will be provided.

Salary: Special Agreement Agreement Pending. Previous Minimum - $1,095/wk.
